Marcus

I think we can all agree
that childhood’s not so rosy,
Specially hanging ‘round people
Just like my father.
I wonder if I could be
Some giant, spectacular,
All-providing god with a wallet
Just for Marcus.
At night it gets hard to sleep
Knowing that in less than three weeks
I’ll be having a big bad baby tiger.
Should I file down his claws?
Or let him scratch and use his teeth
Killing mice in his sleep
Just like my father.
If I have a baby girl, I’m gonna name her Marca.
Will she say her name is Marge
Or will she go by Marca?
When I have a baby boy, I’m gonna name him Marcus.
Will he say his name is Mark
Or will he go by Marcus?

Julian

Don’t give up on Julian,
Growing takes time.
None of us were born wise.
Sweet, beloved Julian
Never hurt a fly.
You hit him with your shoe
Oh why?
My brother, Julian
Didn’t start the fight,
Mr. Jimmy-Lou’s a liar.
Little brother Julian
Don’t forget to smile,
Give a change of heart a try.
Julian gave it a try,
But I had to leave at that time,
So everyone got on his case
And made him walk in line,
No more shine.
My pops sent Julian to the Army
Where he had his head shaved, but it was
For nothing because he won’t slow down.
Where to find my Julian?

Tamicka

Tamicka loves to learn and sharing with her class
Mates who can’t help but to tease.
Her for things she can’t control like her weight and
Which side of the tracks she lives on.
And though they let their sighs express discontent
For Tamicka and the facts she brought into school, won’t stop her from
Learning all she can.
But she still wishes to be mean like them,
To be accepted amongst friends,
And talk while they listen.
Learning all she can
To get them back for the resentment she feels
Maybe some tacks on their chairs
Or bubblegum in their hair, pranks are new to her
So is contempt and revenge.
And even though they caused her to grow inward alone,
Tamicka knows her heart and causing pain ain’t her way
And she knows she’ll be their boss some day.

Tommy

[My name is Tommy I’m a real one
My favorite animal is a penguin too, I got that.
I wish my mom bought me Hess Truck.
I put an Army Man in that Hess Truck too, I got that.]
Stretching his human legs,
Wiggling his own new toes,
Formally furniture,
Now he gets up and he goes.
Having not seen a globe,
He has seen all of the land,
But seeing the birds and the bees
Tommy will understand.
[My turn first if you want to know who won,
It’s 3 – nothing, Tommy, now let’s have some fun.
Real little Tommy crawling to the store,
Too young for school, too young for Army Man.]
No one can catch a glimpse of Tommy or
He will turn back into a friend.
Tommy is questioning why
No one will let him outside.
How does grass feel on his feet,
What does that big tree smell like?
[I like rap music but don’t tell my dad,
I love blue trains and my dad loves me.
Scared of the gremlins, not so scared of ghosts.
Riding in my Hess Truck, go go go.]
Stretching his human legs,
Wiggling his own new toes,
Formally furniture,
Now he gets up and he goes.
Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, no.
Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, don’t.
Horses on a merry go-round,
Stand as one, together and proud.
If I fall off and hit the ground, well then I’ll
(Get) right (Up)
I’ll surely turn around.
Beneath the surface I’m really real,
Past the screws, the parts that I use, little
Hands to create and design a message,
(A) mind (To)
Debate it’s true intent.
